Q: How does extended access work?
Answer: If you purchase extended access you can log into https://greatbrasewingbee.com/conference-hub/ with the same login info you use during the Bee anytime until August 8, 2022 (for 1 year after the conference).
Q: What are Fit Sessions?
Answer: Fit sessions are 1-on-1 consults with a bra exper from our team! They will meet with you on a video conferencing platform and mentor you about whatever you need help with. Most people use these sessions to get help altering and fitting a bra muslin. They can also be used to discuss the best pattern for your bust shape or get expert advice on other bra questions.
Q: Do I need anything prepared for my fit session?
Answer: Most people sew a bra muslin before their first fit session so they can make alterations to it during the session. However, this is not necessary. Your teacher is there to help you with whatever obstacle has you stumped.
Q: When can I start using coupons?
Answer: Coupons are active starting on August 4th. They do NOT apply to conference kits purchased before August 4th.
Q: What happens if a coupon does not work?
Answer: If a coupon does not work, email us! Our team can put you in touch with the business owner.
Q: How soon will I be able to view a class recording after the class concludes?
Answer: Class recordings can be viewed on our Facebook group immediately after the class, but it will take longer for our team to upload them to the website. Uploading recordings quickly is a top priority for us so we ask for your patience as we wait for the recording to download, upload and embed. With large video files, each process can take a couple of hours.
Q: What is a class download?
Answer: A class download is a PPT or notes document prepared by the teacher. Some classes may also have Pinterest boards as class resources! These documents are a great way to guide your note taking and remember what you learned.
Q: Do all classes have downloads?
Answer: Not all classes have downloads so don’t panic if you don’t see one! My advice is that if you don’t see a download on August 1st, check back right before the class or a couple hours after to see if the teacher made any last minute changes.
Q: What is the difference between a live and pre-recorded class?
Answer: The GBSB has both live classes and pre-recorded classes. Live classes take place virtually August 4-8 as you can see on the class schedule. Pre-recorded classes can be watched on-demand at any time during the time you have access to the conference hub.
Q: What if I don’t have Facebook?
Answer: If you don’t have Facebook you can still participate in the GBSB! All our classes, downloads, sew-alongs, sewing rooms, shop specials, and fit sessions are accessible on the Conference Hub. The things only available on Facebook are:
1) Giveaways
2) Question threads for questions the teacher ran out of time for in class
Q: Can I upgrade to extended access if I purchased only the live event at first?
Answer: Yes! You can upgrade at [insert link].
Q: What do I need to have prepared before my sew-along?
Answer: Before a sew-along premieres, you will need to get your materials ready. You can see kits and materials lists here.
Q: How can I make sure I get sew-along kits before the event starts?
Answer: Purchase your sew-along kits early or use materials from your stash. You can also save shipping time by ordering from a bra shop in the same country you live in.
Q: How long do I have access to the Facebook Group?
Answer: No matter what package you have, you have access to the Facebook group for exactly 1 month after the conference. When the group closes you will still be able to view it, but no one will be able to post.
Q: How long do I have access to the live class recordings from Sunday?
Answer: If you purchased live event only, then you have until Sunday evening Hawaii time. This means that it will last until Monday for those in Australia and New Zealand.
Q: How is the GBSB addressing size inclusivity issues?
Answer: This year we wanted to make sure to have sew-alongs specifically targeted for those in need of size inclusivity. Be sure to check out the Apostrophe Patterns “Inclusive Panty,” the “Ingrid” for the non-wired bra, and the Josey-Plus for a wired bra.
Q: What do I do if a live class I want to watch happens while I am sleeping?
Answer: When you wake up you can either watch the recording of the class on our website (if it’s published) or you can watch the Facebook live replay. Just use the search bar in our Facebook group to find the class.
Q: Do I need to download software onto my computer to attend the Bee?
Answer: As long as you have an internet browser, you can attend the whole conference from the Conference Hub and our Facebook Group . If you feel overwhelmed by watching classes on Facebook Live, you can also easily attend them from the Zoom links listed on the Conference Hub. If you want to attend classes on Zoom, you can download that application from https://zoom.us/download and select the top option.
